MASONICh.I.P. CLINIC AT THE BEETON HONEY & GARDEN FESTIVAL

It is my pleasure to report to you that the recent MasoniChIP Clinic held at the Beeton Honey & Garden Festival, on Saturday May 29th, 2010, was another great success.

We had 97 children and youth go through the process at this clinic.

This latest clinic brings the total to 332 children & youth in the last year, predominantly from in and around the Beeton area, whose parents have received a state of the art child identification package provided by Spry Lodge and the MasoniChIP Program.

These prepared packages enable parents/guardians and policing authorities to act quickly should a child go missing or become unaccounted for.

If deemed necessary by authorities that an Amber Alert be issued, the critical and compatible information contained in the child's MasoniChIP package will take only two minutes to be broadcast once the information on the CD is transferred to the police computers.

During such circumstances, time is of the essence with the first two hours being the most critical in the safe recovery of the child.

A sincere and special thanks goes out to all those who helped make this Clinic so special.

Mason's from Spry Lodge and surrounding Lodges, as well as their families and friends worked hard in preparing and operating this for this clinic.

We are extremely grateful to our participating partners who helped with donations: Accutrac Capital Solutions, and ITS Canada. We would also like to recognize the support and community minded spirit of our volunteer dentists, Dr. Ian Lo and Dr. Harvey Kalsi.

SPRY LODGE'S NEWEST E.A.

At the regular meeting of Spry Lodge #385 G.R.C. held on May 25th, 2010, Bro. Frank Urbanski was initiated into our fine order. Bro. Urbanski handled himself with fine demeanor, befitting of a Mason. Only four (4) days later, Bro. Urbanski was actively involved as a volunteer in the MasoniChIP Clinic detailed above. We welcome Bro. Urbanski into our great fraternity.

KINDRED LODGES ASSOCIATION

Spry Lodge #385 is an associate member of the Kindred Lodge Association (K.L.A.).  The K.L.A. was formed to facilitate and foster relationships among Freemasons who are involved in youth work.  In the beginning memberships focused on lodges which worked closely with Cub and Scout groups throughout the world.  In Canada there were three such lodges; Kamloops Lodge No. 10, Kamloops B.C.; Spry Lodge No. 385, Beeton, Ont.; The Spry Lodge No. 406, Fenelon Falls, Ont.

World wide there are 39 member lodges in Great Britain, and other lodges in Hong Kong, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand.  There is some indication that K.L.A. is considering a member-at-large or individual memberships.
